Dye-sublimation consists of a two-part process. First, your photo is printed on a transfer sheet using liquid gel. This image is then cooked onto an aluminum sheet. The combination of heat and pressure permanently bonds the crisp details of your image to the aluminum.

Latex or acrylic paints are the best for painting aluminum. Choose the ones designed for use on metal. If you're handling an outdoor project like patio furniture, ensure the paint is exterior grade. Tempting as it might be, don't go for high-gloss paints because they will highlight imperfections on the surface.

Aluminium art panels make even, rigid and lightweight painting surfaces. Unlike canvases (with wooden stretcher bars) or wood panels, aluminium panels are artwork supports that will not release gases over time and barely react to changes in humidity and temperature.
